When you start a movement to change the world, you can't achieve it alone; you need to incorporate and involve everyone. With our ongoing battles against climate, it is important to enlist younger generations in the effort of protecting and shaping our environment. We must raise environmentally conscious children by instilling a concern for the environment and sustainable practices.

A child can see the relevance of establishing good habits towards the planet when you, as a parent made a standpoint to be one. However, nurturing kids and engaging them in the environment is a difficult task, you need someone that can relate to them. So, when looking for a young model, let's meet Ryan Hickman. He is a young environmentalist who has made a significant impact on our environment and the lives of children all around the world.

Ryan Hickman is the owner and president of Ryan's Recycling Company. He began promoting and recycling when he was 3.5 years old. With the support of his parents and guardians, it highlighted and amplified him as a young child who is concerned about safeguarding our environment. Now, Ryan is 11 years old and he has recycled over one million cans and bottles! Now, with the goal of inspiring people around the world and keeping waste out of our oceans and landfills. He donates the proceeds to marine mammal rescue operations and organizes weekly beach clean-ups in his town.

This year 2022, he just launched his new nonprofit organization: Project3R. Which will focus on recycling education and awareness around the world. Aside from that, he already has some programs that might interest you and your kids.

If you live in Orange County, California, and would want Ryan to pick up items from your home or workplace, they'd be pleased to arrange a pick up at your location. Ryan recycles aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and glass beverage containers for CA-CRV.

Ryan partnered up with Recycle From HomeTM to collect and compensate residents of Irvine, California for their aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and glass bottles. Recycle From HomeTM will pick up recyclable items from your Irvine home if you schedule a pickup using the link below.

The Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, California, receives proceeds from the sale of Ryan's Recycling t-shirts. Help Ryan's Recycling get the word out while looking good in the process. Shirts for men, women, and children are available.

“This work is so important to me because I know that I’m helping out the environment, and I inspire lots of people to do the same exact thing. I’m a kid, and I started when I was a kid, that means you guys can start right now! It’s super easy, and I think you guys will love cleaning up the environment with me.” - Ryan Hickman.
